What can TACP do after the military?
Okay. I’m going to BMT for the Air Force in two months and I’m pretty headstrong about getting into TACP. I passed my PAST with flying colors (9:00 on the 1.5mile run, 79 pushups, 67 situps, 12 pullups, as well as success on the 500 meter swim and 20 meter underwater swim).
I no longer have a doubt in my mind about blowing shit up for a career in the USAF. My question is, however, what can TACP do after the military?
Based on some research, I know that TACP would be qualified for any job that requires wielding a gun (a police officer, FBI Agent, Secret Service, etc.) due to their intense physical training sessions and their mastery with weapons. On the other hand, their CCAF degree reads Systems Information Technology…
So if anyone can shed some light on any of this, it would be useful: ex-TACP/JTAC personnel, military experts, etc.
My other question would is: What can you do in civilian life that allows you to carry a gun and use a computer at the same time?
While you’re in the operational Air Force, and after you get your CDC’s done, take as much schooling as you possibly can. Get as much education as you can, then use your GI Bill after you get out.
After that, you’d be pretty well qualified for most jobs in law enforcement.
