Children’s book review: This is one graphic ‘Storm’ that young readers will love
The children’s rhyme “Rain, rain, go away” takes on ominous tones in artist Matt Phelan’s first graphic novel, “The Storm in the Barn.” In it, Phelan creates his own literary alchemy. It is part thriller, part historical fiction, part tall tale. All is blended perfectly and translated in eerie, somber visuals.
