Do you have to let go of the gas petal when you shift gears with a tiptronic Porsche Boxster?
I was wondering if you have to let go of the gas pedal when shifting gears with a Porsche Boxster Tiptronic, or can you shift the gears without lifting the gas pedal? Thanks everyone
I own a Boxster with a Tiptronic and I do not lift the throttle when shifting. The transmission does not operate the same as a manual and it will not over-rev between gears. I would be careful shifting full throttle all the time, since it will put added strain on the drivetrain = more wear and more repairs.
When you are driving your car, try using the thumb shifters without lifting the throttle. Your car will act fine and you will not be doing any harm to your car.
