Novel Richard

How to analyze the setting in a fiction novel?
All my language teacher told me to do was “analyze the setting” of the fiction novel Tangerine by Richard Bloor. I am sort of confused as how to analyze a setting and how long my essay should be. Thanks!
I got the author’s name wrong. It is Edward Bloor, not Richard Bloor.
The setting of a story is the when and the where it takes place. To look deeper, is the setting comfortable, rushed, hostile, etc. Does the weather give you any clues (stormy is symbolic as is sunny). As I don’t know the book, there is little more I can add. I hope this helps a bit. Unless you use lots of quotes, a page should suffice.

Blaze: A Novel by Richard Bachman (First Edition Hardcover) $0.01 From Publishers Weekly Written circa 1973, this trunk novel, as Bachman’s double (aka Stephen King) refers to it in his self-deprecating foreword, lacks the drama and intensity of Carrie and the horror opuses that followed it. Still, this fifth Bachman book (after 1996’s The Regulators) shows King fine-tuning his skill at making memorable characters out of simple salt-of-the-earth types. Clayton B… |
