Short Term Versus Long Term Marketing For Your Online Home Business

For short term marketing, you want to start by hitting the forums hard. If you find 5 or 10 legitimate forums within your niche and make a few posts every day, people will begin to recognize your name. The more exposure you have the better chance someone is going to check out your web site.
Consistency is critical with your online home business marketing. If you take a few days off from posting in the forums, people will completely forget you exist. It takes posting in the same forums day after day for prospects and your target market to pick up on your knowledge and expertise.
The great thing about posting in forums is that it will not cost you a penny. However, pay-per-click marketing can generate results if you do have money to spend. This allows you to buy your way into the top two or three ads in the search engines without having to invest a great deal of time and effort to get to the top. Just know that it can be quite pricey to get that high in the search engines depending on the keywords you are targeting.
As for long term marketing for your online home business, start to think about search engine optimization. This involves climbing up the search engines like pay-per-click marketing, but you will do it naturally without spending any money. It can take several months to get on page one of Google for keywords which is why this is a long term marketing technique.
If you can hold a spot in the top five on a major search engine like Google, your traffic volume is going to soar. Every time someone searches using the keyword you are targeting, they are going to see your ad. You are bound to create legitimate results off of this.
Understanding short term marketing versus long term marketing can determine the type of results your online home business gets. Knowing how to properly promote your business will help separate your site from the rest of the field.
