i got an audiobook “a civil action” but on the back it says Abridged, 4 Cassettes, 4 hrs

An abridged book is a book that has been edited by an editor after the book has been around for a long time.

A lot of classics are abridged to make the text easier to comprehend.
Abridged books are usually shorter than unabridged books.
