Film Review: Garfield: The Movie
Neither good nor bad movie. Only bad special effects, but for a film whose target audience is not more than fifteen is not all bad. This movie was not intended to be anything other than a film for parents to bring television to occupy their children in infancy to ninety minutes (well, 80 minutes).
As someone who grew up in the immortal comic creator Jim Davis' Garfield and Cartoons Saturday morning, I feel that this adjustment on the big screen is the most diluted of all. Unlike children's films of the 80s and early 90s never really get a sense of danger or from one of the characters throughout the movie in a state of products. It does not seem to be something new that distinguishes this film hundreds of films from another child who did.
What happened in the camps in the area and Watership Downs and White Fang, and to some extent, the terminal of origin HOMEWARD and stronger. These are the films that were entertaining for children and had a weight for them. Today, films are afraid to delve deeply into the darker side to the life lessons to children. It is a shame, since Garfield that is ideal for further study of tolerance for people who are different especially in the political climate today.
You may think that these issues are too old for children, but this has not prevented the filmmakers from the list above to make movies that have delved into what about hitting to his audience.
As I said, Garfield: The Movie is not a bad film, but not good either.
