Sales tracking Amazon sales rank and obtain accurate estimates
I was an author who has published more than seven years and if one thing can not remain in the industry expected! While waiting for the book through the production, hoping to hit store shelves, waiting for someone to buy, wait for the paycheck first, and most importantly, waiting to see how my book is done.
Anyone who has written any material posted has probably suffered the same anguish and frustration at the time it takes to get feedback on their valuable work art. I remember the first time I wrote a whole book myself (up 'till then had chapters contributed mainly to works other peoples') – I spent most of the first week after publication to update the book page on Amazon to see if new notice or if the sales rank has improved.
To do this, soon becomes a bit boring and when he had always wanted to know how I did my book, I could not lose more time and more looking on the same page again and again and again. The worst thing is that, although it is always good to see the range of lower sales to thousands or hundreds of top down, from time to time, I really could not know that I did … not really!
Looking around on the Internet was a little disappointing because it seemed that many people believe that the Amazon sales rank says nothing and I lost time. This seemed strange because it seemed that Amazon has put much effort in building sales Rank Facility – certainly not suck thumb in the figures?
In time for the launch of my next book, I started using RankTracer which currently provides estimates of sales and sales tracking lines. Setting up an account needs to complete the 3 steps below:
1. Register RankTracer
2. Using your subscription form to enter an ASIN (A unique number assigned to each product sold on Amazon) Product (s) you want to follow – it will add the product (s) to your shopping subscription (They actually have a small form that allows to determine all the ASIN product you wish to follow before purchasing a subscription).
3. Order and pay for your subscription – your only $ 2 per month for monitoring a diploma, or $ 1 to receive updates to automatic review.
RankTracer also gives you 3 million to prove that the written notification of the registration (for a limited time), so it is really free to try for a month or so. They also sell credit, you can buy in order to make the basket more Quick and easy – you do not reach for your credit card each time you renew a subscription. Once you buy some credit you can even send any money to others for use in RankTracer.
I took all my books and a few others from using this service, and instead of checking me RankTracer Amazon send notifications comments or my sales rank falls below or above a certain point.
Moreover, I have to send me a PDF of all securities that I follow every week and every month, which is good because I ended up being too lazy to even visit the Internet to check how my books are (now that I did not). They have a sample report on your page site if you want to have a look. As you will have the full range of sales statistics, sales weekly or monthly totals and charts and discussion product information.
What I find really interesting is how the site is built for you to make comparisons and contrasts information you record. They have what they call a workstation, a single Web page that uses AJAX to provide a friendly and intuitive interface to interact with selling information Fila – there are many options that allow you to display information about your group and a variety of ways.
For example, I wanted to see how the new book by Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion, he sold compared with my own tracks (not that I expect my sales to compete in any way, only to see the difference in sales volume). Using the GUI construction RankTracer called me for this period a week using 3-D graphics (which have several types of graphical data):

Ok, So the actual image may not be very clear here, but I hope you can make that my book is far behind Mr. Dawkins. Note that graph appears almost flat due to its classification has averaged 19 last week, while mine is on average 19 000. On the bottom of figure must also be able to see the sales estimates for each title. In this case, The God Delusion has sold about 510 copies this week, but my only book sold 31.
I have been tracking my novel much more time to give an example of another way of looking at data collected, I took a picture of my sales rank graph in the last month using a wide-grouped on a daily basis (instead of hours, as shown in chart above):

From here you can see that sales have increased for a few days in early January, after a bit of a slowdown in December – each bar indicates the difference between best and worst ranking for this day. As always, the sales estimate RankTracer engine that provides an estimate of the month – in this case there is an even 130 copies sold in an average range of about 20 000.
In addition to tracking sales ranking Amazon for his book, I feel very good piece of my group titles competing to see how I do in the context of my little niche. It is very useful to know like everyone else do, because I think that helps me determine where I have things right and wrong.
Especially since the sales rank information is obtained on I say an hourly basis in near real impact of any advertising or articles that I or my editor was published. It is amazing falls in the classification as articles or comments posted on various Internet sites – once my book has a great review on Slashdot and RankTracer noted an improvement in sales after about 3 weeks.
It reached the point where my editor I am often asked how my book is done because it's easier for me knows that for him to go for your records. Finally, I assume that all publishers need to wake up and start offer this service to its authors, but for now I am happy to receive my weekly updates to follow what is happening in the world of the Amazon — I'll leave the analysis of competition for retailers, publishers and advertisers.
